Peanut Shells on the Floor

I was reading about Mom Taxi Julie's distaste for peanut shells on the floors of rustic/country restaurants, and I remembered a funny story:

One of my ex's is Italian, and when we were in the US together, I took him to an "Irish" restaurant in Tennessee.  Everyone got a basket of peanuts, and it was customary to eat the peanuts and throw the shells on the floor.  Typical, my ex thought this was AMAZING and ate the entire basket so he could throw all the shells on the floor.  When he was back in Italy, he went to a restaurant, and his table was served a basket of peanuts.  So he started eating the peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor.  Then he looked around at everyone sitting at his table and saw their looks of horror.  Doing a quick scan of the restaurant, he realized he was the only one throwing shells on the floor.

Good thing I didn't take him to a BYOB barbecue joint!

  1. Thanks for the link up :) That's probably what it is, my mom is a neat freak and would FLIP if we spilled or dropped stuff on the floor when we were kids. I neatly put my peanut shells on a plate lol.
