Abyssinian gladiola blooms and oak leaves photographed using my scanner after a bit of experimentation.
This gladiola is a late season bloomer, and it's only just started blooming around here. The flowers are quite precious, and the leaves are gorgeous although I didn't include them in the scan.
I have to say that this is a really fun photo contest and quite original!
This is a very pretty photo! You'll have to let us know when you win the contest!
ReplyDeleteGood luck. It's a lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks, you two!! I hope I at least get an honorable mention, but there are a lot of good entries!
ReplyDeleteDid you actually put water on your scanner bed??? IT looks so cool...
ReplyDeleteJulie - I'm kinda reluctant to say what I did, but it wasn't water and wasn't done in GIMP/Photoshop. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I really like Abyssian gladiolas, but so do the squirrels, so I don't grow them anymore.
ReplyDeleteI can only think the squirrels leave my bulbs alone because there are lots of easier food sources like acorns and the compost pile. Naughty squirrels.
ReplyDeleteI wondered about the water, also. Keep your secret, it is very cool.
ReplyDeleteTufa Girl - Thanks! I'll probably explain how I did it eventually. I'm terrible at keeping secrets anyhow.
