Stupid Summer, Stupid Everywhere Else

Everyone else in the blotanical world seems to be talking about autumn coming and being able to actually feel it coming. I feel nothing but the heat, lack of rain, and paradoxical humidity. All I feel is this neverending summer. I started a container planting for autumn, but it's an attempt to delude myself into thinking that autumn is approaching. I need to get out of Texas. I suspect we'll have triple digits into October, and I'm trying to cheer myself by thinking that in February, when it's cold everywhere else, it'll be nice here. February just seems an awful long time from now.

  1. Hi AR~~ I was thinking the same thing. When we're cold and rainy up north, you'll be enjoying relative warmth and calm. But yes, February is still a long way off. I think the middle class retirees have it figured out: a summer home up north and a winter home down south. I am a self-proclaimed weather-wuss. My extreme wussiness manifests when there are extremes on either end of the thermometer.

    I hear ya.

  2. Hmmm... A long stretched summer. But ours too unpredictable lately, hot for a couple of days, then wet with heavy rains, making it tough for the little baby veggies to hold on and familiarise...

  3. I was just thinking the same thing. I wish I could feel fall coming, but I can't. I feel for you. We have had our share of 100's but just when I can't take it anymore an occasional low pressure will push it down into the low 90's.

I have enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to following it and thank you for coming by to follow mine.

  4. I agree it doesn't seem fair to have high temperatures, lack of rain, AND sticky humidity. That's how it's been here in Tucson too.

  5. Ok, don't be too upset---but it is awesome here and we're going to see night temps in the 50's next week. Sorry.

But....and this is a big butt....we had your temps last year and I did hate it. Funny though, my tomatoes did better last year.
