I adore documentaries, but especially ones that are gorgeous to watch. I suppose that's why I like Ken Burns "The National Parks: America's Best Idea".
I recently discovered that Netflix has TED Talks on demand, and I saw this amazing one (through the Wii onto my TV) called "Louie Schwartzberg: The hidden beauty of pollination":
Honestly, it's much better through Netflix (search for "Beasts, Bugs & Bio-wilderment"). The quality online just isn't as good, but it's pretty close.
My favorite parts are the bat with the clutching pup and the huge gathering of monarch butterflies. So wonderful! Louie Schwartzberg is a genius!
Thank you so much for posting this magical video. The whole film must be amazing. I agree he is nothing less than a genius. Oh, BTW, I thought you had five acres not 1/5 acre. You have only a bit more than me!!!! I am a bit dyslexic, so what I read sometimes when I am reading fast does not compute. So you can imagine my problem with CAPTCHA commenting.
ReplyDeleteI also just discovered TED talks...just watched the one about your big brain and your stomach brain!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice...very nice. I couldn't get into the National Parks miniseries - but I think that was because i thought it was going to be something different than it was.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Absolutely beautiful! I must share this inspirational video. The hidden world of pollination is truly magnificent. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeletethank you so much for inserting this - I'm off to check out the other Ted talks, my favourite bit on this one was the bees I think but it was all wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love this one, too! And what amazing butterfly pictures you have!!
